Aylmer Cottage

Aylmer Cottage is a charming Grade II-listed 2 bed holiday cottage (sleeps 4) in historic Cinque Port town of Tenterden, Kent. Newly refurbished, modernised and furnished to high standards it holds a 4 Star rating from the English Tourist Board.

The Sitting Room is very comfortably furnished with two two-seater sofas, as well as dining table for four people. There is a wood-burning stove in the large inglenook fireplace which can be lit in the colder months (though the gas central heating is more than sufficient for warming the house). This room also has a TV/DVD and music centre, as well as a ion of DVDs etc for your enjoyment.

The comfortably appointed main bedroom looks out towards the high street (which is beyond the long front garden, so noise levels are low). There is a double bed, wardrobes etc and colour TV with VCR. A feature fireplace and antique furniture complement this delightful room.

The second bedroom is located on the second (top) floor of the house, and boasts two single beds, colour television with VCR, as well as wardrobes etc. The room is dual aspect with a view of the high street through the dormer window to the front, and the houses and gardens of the town through the window to the rear.

Please note that as this is a very old property (probably 17th Century) the stairs to the upper floors are steep, and may not be suitable for some people with impaired mobility.

The kitchen is very well equipped, with dishwasher, washer/drier, fridge/freezer, gas cooker, microwave, and full range of china, cutlery and cookware.

The Garden, situated at the rear of the property, is a delightful sheltered place to sit out all year long. There is a barbeque area, as well as a terrace with seating and further area of garden beyond.

Parking nearby (off street) £2 charge from 7am - 7pm) 1 hour parking also available in the High Street during business hours, unrestricted overnight parking from 6pm - 9am and all day Sundays in parking bays outside, other parking available within a few minutes walk.
