About Knotts Farm Holiday Cottages - Self Catering Cottage Holidays


Knotts Farm holiday cottages are three newly converted self catering cottages on a working farm in the picturesque district of Quernmore, between the City of Lancaster and village of Caton. They have a rustic country feel with modern facilities making the ideal retreat for both couples and families.

The three high quality cottages have all been awarded with four star ratings. One of which, Knotts View, is especially designed for wheelchair access and it has been awarded mobility score two, which is quite unique in this area. Another, Clougha View is two storey accommodation sleeping up to four people. The remaining cottage, Knotts Nest situated in between the two.

THE COTTAGES:
ClOUGHA VIEW COTTAGE is a two storey, two bedroom, four star rated cottage consisting of high quality double and a twin bedrooms, sleeping up to four people. There is also ample parking to the front of the property and patio seating area.

The cottage benefits from gas central heating, instant hot water and double glazed windows. In the lounge is a wood burning stove for those cosy winter nights in! (Wood is provided for length of your visit) TV, DVD and Freeview is also installed.
The kitchen is fully integrated with a gas hob and electric fan assisted Stoves oven.

There is also a washer dryer. The cottage has a downstairs cloak room with the main bathroom upstairs consisting of a whirlpool bath with thermostatic shower.

KNOTTS NEST is a one bedroom four star rated cottage with a double bedroom. It "nests" between the other two holiday cottages and is ideally suited for a couple. There is ample parking to the front of the property and patio seating area which is located just through the French doors at the front of the cottage for all those nice summer evenings.

The cottage has gas central heating, instant hot water and is double-glazed through out. Care has been taken to retain the charm and character of the building with the original beams exposed making great features.

The cottage consists of a lounge diner with TV, DVD and Freeview facilities. The kitchen area is fully integrated with a gas hob, electric fan assisted Stoves oven, there is also a integrated washer/dryer. The bathroom is a white suite and features a thermostatic shower.

KNOTTS VIEW COTTAGE is designed to be accessible for wheelchairs and able bodied people alike. It is a ground floor cottage which has an extra large bedroom containing one double bed and one single bed. The cottage has ample parking to the front with a concrete level parking area to ease wheel chair use on arrival.

The cottage has gas central heating, instant hot water and double-glazed windows. Great care has been taken to retain the charm and character of the original building keeping the original beams exposed to create a lovely cottage with a rustic feel.

It has a large lounge / diner with fully integrated kitchen featuring a gas hob and electric fan assisted Stoves oven. It also has an integrated washer/dryer. The lounge area has a two-seater leather sofa and also a Winsford style chair for anyone requiring more support. Remote control TV, DVD and Freeview is also installed.

The bathroom is of a 'wetroom' style. It features a shower which is ideal for wheelchair users to wheel directly into and is also equally suitable for the able bodied. There are plenty of hand rails and special features to match varying degrees of disability.

Knotts View Cottage has been awarded a 'Mobility Level Two' score by the National Accessible Scheme and a Four Star accommodation rating.

The cottages are ideally located within two miles of Lancaster City centre but within the Forest of Bowland - an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. We are close to Lancaster University and within easy reach of both junction 33 and 34 of the M6 motorway, also benefiting from being at the gateway to the picturesque Lune Valley.

DIRECTIONS
Directions by road:
From Junction 33 of the M6 : on exiting the motorway take the turning sign posted 'LANCASTER'. Pass straight through the village of GALGATE. At the second set of traffic lights turn RIGHT, sign posted ALEXANDRA HOUSE / FOREST HILLS. Follow this road straight across a mini roundabout, back under the motorway, straight across two sets of crossroads. At the end of this road (Littlefell Lane) is a T-Junction with a wood / forest in front of you. Turn RIGHT and Knotts Farm is on the right, just down the lane.

From Junction 34 of the M6 : Follow the directions for CATON for roughly 3 miles. On entering the village take the first RIGHT, sign posted Quernmore road, 2.9 miles on this road. Knotts farm is on your LEFT after passing a phone box and exiting a wooded area.
