STILL SOME DATES AVAILABLE!! Lake View Holiday Apartments consists of three apartments run by Stephen and Michelle King, the resident proprietors. They sleep from 2 to 4 adults and are situated within Lake View Country House guest house. Lake View is located in the village of Grasmere, within just a few minutes walk of the centre, in a delightful and secluded setting, with ample private parking. Stephen & Michelle aim to provide you with well equipped and, moreover, clean and comfortable accommodation from which to enjoy your well earned rest.

During the main season, from April until November, the apartments are let on a weekly basis only, from Saturday to Saturday. From November through to April, in addition to weekly lets, we also offer lets of two nights or more. A brief description of each apartment is listed below and details of the weekly letting rates applicable are set out overleaf. Each of the apartments has a 3 star rating from the English Tourism Council (ETC).

All of the apartments have bathrooms, with baths and power showers. They are also fully carpeted and benefit from gas central heating. The cost of heating, lighting and hot water is included in the letting price.

Daffodil (Apartment 1)
This cosy second floor apartment is the largest of the three and sleeps four people in one double and one twin bedroom; both rooms have their own wash hand basin. It is possible to add a guest bed in the twin bedroom to sleep a child. The rest of the accommodation consists of a large hallway, kitchen-diner/lounge and bathroom, with bath and separate power shower cubicle. This apartment is ideal for a family.

Bluebell (Apartment 2)
This apartment is situated on the first floor, this bright and sunny two person apartment offers stunning views towards Grasmere lake and the surrounding fells and overlooks our large Lakeland garden. The bedroom is equipped with a double bed and the bathroom has a white suite with bath, with power shower overhead and a heated towel rail.

Azalea (Apartment 3)
This apartment is our very popular ground floor apartment for two people, with its own private access, parking space and, in the summer season, outdoor seating. This apartment, which is also suited to anyone of restricted mobility, comprises a bedroom, with twin beds, a lounge/diner, with kitchen area off to one side, and a tiled bathroom, with a white suite with a bath and power shower overhead.

Each of the apartments is equipped with a dining table and chairs, lounge seating, an electric oven, a microwave oven, a refrigerator with freezer compartment, a colour TV, a Video Cassette Recorder and a micro Hi-Fi centre, with CD, cassette and radio facilities.

The grounds around the apartments have magnificent views, thought by many to be among the best in the area. A private footpath meanders down from the garden to Grasmere lakeshore, alongside the River Rothay, where you can take advantage of our fishing rights. For those with an interest in wildlife, a patient vigil may bring the rewarding sight of the resident badgers, red deer, a kingfisher or perhaps even an otter.

Bed and Linen and towels
Duvets and covers are included within the letting price; bed linen and towels are available for hire. If required, a cost of £8.50 per bed linen ( £11.00 for Super King Size) and £4.50 per person for towels. A make up service is available at a cost of £5.00 per bed.

Dogs
Dogs are welcome by prior arrangement, at a cost of £4.50 per pet per night (maximum weekly charge £22.00 per pet).

Both the village of Grasmere and the lake itself are extremely relaxing places to visit during all four seasons, as different aspects of the valley's beauty are portrayed. Below are just a few pictures of Grasmere and some of its attractions at different times of the year, giving you a glimpse of the beauty you can enjoy through a stay with us.

Grasmere is located almost at the centre of the Lake District (8 miles north of Windermere and 12 miles south of Keswick) and therefore makes a good base for touring. If, however, you prefer to get away from driving during your break, there is a varied range of low and high level walking available to you from Lake View’s doorstep. For example, Hellvellyn (England’s second highest peak), The Fairfield Horseshoe, Alcock Tarn, Helm Crag (the Lion and the Lamb) or more sedate alternatives, such as the Round of Rydal Water or following Grasmere’s lakeshore.

Places to visit include Dove Cottage, Langdale Pikes, Stagshaw Garden, Kirkstone Pass, Tarn Hows, Wray Castle, Brothers Water, Honister Slate Mine, Windermere Steamboat Museum, The Bowder Stone, and Stock Ghyll Force to name just a few.
