Pekes offers unique self catering holidays, situated twelve miles inland from Eastbourne, eighteen miles from Brighton and nine miles from Lewes in the county of East Sussex up a drive of 350 yards with unspoilt view of the countryside.

The self catering properties are peaceful yet close to London, with exceptional freedom to use the facilities: exotic indoor heated swimming pool, sauna, jacuzzi, lawn badminton, hard Macadam style tennis court and extensive grounds.

Pekes Manor House is exceptionally large tile hung Tudor Manor House ideal for large groups. It has three floors with oak-beamed ceilings, panelled rooms, and a croquet lawn. It sleeps up to 20 people.

At the back Pekes Manor House looks out over a large lawn approx: the size of 2 tennis courts. The lawn badminton court is marked out at the near end of the lawn. The croquet is set up at the far end. This lawn is exclusively for the use of visitors to Pekes. The hard tennis court is out of sight and shared with other visitors. The excellent facilities include a heated indoor heated swimming pool.

Pekes Manor House has 8 double bedrooms, large kitchen and kitchen annexe, 4 bathrooms (2 with bath, WC and basin, 2 with modern shower, WC and basin) and 3 reception rooms. There is full oil-fired central heating. Eggs and vegetables are usually available from the gardener. Cooking, cleaning and nanny help is usually available on request.

The whole estate comprises 28 acres in all. Other visitors have general use of parts of these. You will not be disturbed however - the big lawn is private and it is a very quiet secluded spot.

There are four other self-catering cottages sleeping up to 16 people in comfort, more if you don’t mind being squashed! They centre on the Edwardian Wing of the Manor House.

Mounts View is a three bedroom cottage sleeps 8
Tudor View is a two bedroom cottage with bed settee in the lounge, sleeps 7
The Wing has one big double bedroom, and three divan beds in the large living areas and is really suitable for two to four people for sleeping.
Gate Cottage also has two bedrooms with downstairs bed settee sleeps 6.

All properties are within one hundred yards of each other and have use of all the facilities. They can of course all be rented individually as required.

Please note: Planning permission has been granted to enlarge Mounts View to a five bedroom property, sleeping 10 to 12. Building work to start in January, cost similar to Oast House when finished, please contact to check on availability and price.

Weekend and midweek breaks are available all year EXCEPT School holidays, ie Christmas and New Year weeks, Easter week, Spring Bank holiday week, and the main summer holiday weeks.

Logs are available at £2 per sack
Local shops deliver and the milkman calls 3 or 4 times a week.
Eggs and fresh vegetables are usually on sale from the garden.
Cooking and cleaning help are usually available including baby sitting.

Julia the Cordon Bleu cook can come and serve you dinner. Menus start at £20 per person for a 3-course meal and range up to a Gourmet feast at £27 per person (you bring the wine).
