Our Devon holiday cottages are located 5 miles south of the market town of Barnstaple and close to the superb Golden Coastline of North Devon, renowned for it’s surfing, Whitelake Farm self-catering holiday cottages Devon is the perfect rural base to explore the many spectacular sights in the area.

Exmoor and Dartmoor National Parks are within easy driving distance and the glorious beaches of the North Devon coast are all within 15 miles, with the sandy beach at Instow only 7miles. Riding, sailing, fishing, many golf courses and the famous Tarka Trail can all be found nearby.

Whitelake Farm is perfectly located to explore the many attractions in Devon. To the north, the coastal towns of Lynton and Lynmouth, with it’s cliff top railway, Ilfracombe and Combe Martin are all within easy driving distance.

The Blue Flag beaches of Woolacombe and Croyde, the stunning 6 mile long beach at Saunton and the beaches at Instow and Westward Ho! are all within 15 miles.
Perfect for Holiday Activities of all Kinds including walking (Exmoor and Tarka Trail), Golfing (Saunton, Royal North Devon and Torrington Golf Clubs), Surfing (Croyde, Saunton, Westward Ho!), Fishing, Horse Riding, Cycling (Tarka Trail and other routes).

Or take a boat trip to the beautiful, remote Lundy Island or visit the unique fishing village of Clovelly. There are many National Trust and stately homes worth seeing, as are the gardens of RHS Rosemoor and Marwood Hill.

Nearby is the market town of Barnstaple with it’s shops and the famous Pannier Market and Great Torrington, an historic Civil War town. Here you can meet colourful characters dressed in 17th Century costumes or visit the famous Dartington Crystal. The Cornish town of Bude is only 50 minutes away.
