About Auckland Lodge - Self Catering Apartment Holidays


This rustic Abergavenny holiday cottage is part of a Grade II listed country house set in 2.5 acres of grounds. The picturesque Monmouthshire - Brecon Canal runs right past the house and the towpath is ideal for cycling and walking. Perfect for exploring the Brecon Beacons and set in a beautiful, peaceful location with panoramic views, including Sugar Loaf Mountain, this is the perfect place to relax and unwind. This pet-friendly self catering, Abergavenny is also within walking distance of good local pubs and a supermarket.

The ground floor comprises of lounge, dining room, fully equipped kitchen, a WC and a large hallway. The lounge enjoys beautiful views across the Sugar Loaf Mountain and is perfect for rest and relaxation. The dining room comfortably seats 6.

There is a Den on the first floor which doubles as a 2nd lounge and has a TV with DVD and Freeview. The 3 bedrooms are all on the first floor: two double bedrooms which enjoy lovely views of the Brecon Canal and Sugar Loaf Mountain, and a twin bedroom

Auckland Lodge enjoys 2.5 acres of grounds, more than enough room for the children to run free.
There are both front and side lawn areas where you will find a picnic bench, BBQ and shed for bike / equipment storage available for use.

The cottage is perfectly situated for exploring Abergavenny and the surrounding Brecon Beacon.

Abergavenny, the aptly named 'Gateway to Wales' is nestled in the nearby hills and has something for everyone. With its many indoor and outdoor markets, magnificent castle and museums this medieval market town is sure to delight any visitor. Offering fantastic walks for all abilities as well as its own vineyard, the nearby mountain of Sugarloaf is well worth visiting. No matter what time of year, this wonderful little village has something in the area to suit all tastes and budgets. The Monmouthshire and BreconCanal runs past the property and is considered by many to be Britain's most picturesque canal, and, for much of its length, lies within the National Park's boundaries.

Llangorse Lake in the heart of the Brecon Beacons National Park and Black Mountains offers many opportunities for those interested in outdoor activities. Llangorse Lake is the largest natural lake in South Wales and is renowned for its Pike Fishing. There are numerous fishing opportunities in the area including in the canal and one of the best Salmon river in the UK - The Usk

Water sports
Llangorse Lake offer a wide range of watersports including Canoing, sailing dinghies, rowing boats, pedaloes and water- skiing. Hired from the lakeside, 13 miles.

Walks
Spectacular walks can be found in the Beacons National Park with the peaks of Pen y Fan, Cornddu and Criban, as well as the 90 kilometre Epynt Way which is a circular walk.

Fishing
Permits and day tickets are available for the superb wild brown trout, salmon and sea trout (sewin) fishing on the river Usk. 1 mile

Golf
Monmouthshire Golf Club. Suitable for all ages and levels of golfer. The course is set against the beautiful scenery of the Usk valley 4 miles
